Restorative Yoga for Inner Rejuvenation

Immerse yourself in deep relaxation states for managing chronic pain, anxiety, and insomnia. According to several studies, training the body and the muscles to truly relax can significantly reduce pain, mobility issues, anxiety, and insomnia. However, true relaxation is elusive in today’s norm of overworking, over-striving, and overachieving. Even as we sleep, we carry the tension from our days into the night, resulting in poor, unrestful sleep. In this workshop, we will explore the sensations of truly and consciously releasing chronically tense muscles, layer by layer, through restorative Spinal Release yoga and yoga nidra to resolve pain and stabilize your energy. Learn how to tap into your inner sources of rejuvenation so that you can continue to maintain vitality, joy, and purpose in your body and spirit.

Yoga for Restful Bodies

Yoga for Restful Bodies

When was the last time you felt truly rested? Today, sleep deficiency and “busyness” are worn as badges of honor. Lack of rest and sleep are now suggested as probable causative factors of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, autoimmune dysfunctions, and even mental health.

In this 3-part semi-private series, certified yoga therapist Elaine Oyang will take you through a journey of rest, replenishment, and rejuvenation with yoga nidra and restorative Spinal Release Yoga (SRY™) for your physical, mental, and emotional bodies. In addition to high-touch in-person class time, you will receive lifestyle guidelines to apply the practices of rejuvenation into your daily life.

Space is limited. Priorities given to students who participate in the entire series.

Happy Psoas, Happy Back - Semi Private Series
Jul

to Jul 26

Happy Psoas, Happy Back - Semi Private Series

The psoas is a deep and mighty muscle that is the primary connector between the trunk and your lower limbs. Due to its attachment on the lower spine, tight psoas often leads to back and hip pain. As the muscle itself is so deeply embedded, it is often challenging to obtain true release of the psoas. Learn how to truly release the psoas in this 3-part series through Spinal Release Yoga Therapy, a subtle yet deeply therapeutic modality of restorative yoga. Class usually consists of 4-6 reclining or seated poses, with supportive propping to protect the body and joints. This modality has the potential for decompressing chronically tight deep muscles along the spine to remedy back pain, while resolving emotional patterning as a result of these tensions.

Dates:

Fridays, July 12/19/26

6:30pm-8:00pm

$135 early bird till 7/5
$150 regular

Intro to Spinal Release Yoga

Intro to Spinal Release Yoga

Spinal Release Yoga (SRY) is a subtle yet deeply therapeutic modality of restorative yoga. The physical purpose of this modality is to decompress the spine and resolve deeper patterns of tension along the spinal column, including the sacrum, lower spine, ribcage/thoracic spine, and neck/cervical spine. As physical tension releases, the more subtle aspects of the practice surface by potentially aiding the release of deeply-held emotional patterns. The practice is mainly comprised of 4-6 supine and seated poses, with each pose safely and nourishingly propped to support the body and joints.

This workshop is open to everyone. However, if you have never done Spinal Release Yoga before, please contact Elaine at elaineyogatherapy@gmail.com before signing up.

Restorative Yoga for Deep Spinal Release

Restorative Yoga for Deep Spinal Release

In this deeply therapeutic and restorative special class will explore a specific yoga style that is designed to resolve your chronic hip and spinal tension. We often stretch and strengthen muscles in a yoga class, but rarely do we find a moment to fully embody the release of the deeper spinal muscles. On a physical level, tight spinal muscles can increase loading of the spinal joints and alter their alignments. On a physiological level, they can impair communication between your nervous system and your vital, digestive, and reproductive organs. Tense spinal muscles can further induce stress, causing one to feel anxious, restless, unstable, insecure, and easily fatigued.

Yamas/Niyamas {Yoga Philosophy} Workshop with Elaine Oyang and Catie Ryan

Understanding the Niyamas:

According to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, an ancient philosophical scripture that dates back at least 2000 years, the physical practice of yoga (asanas) constitutes only one-eighth of the entire 8 Limbs of Yoga. In this 2-Part Series, Yoga Instructor, Catie Ryan, and certified Yoga Therapist, Elaine Oyang, will discuss the first two facets of the 8 Limbs: Yamas and Niyamas. These two facets describe restraints and observances one should practice introspectively and towards others in order to attain the ultimate goal of Yoga: unity and freedom from our mind-fluctuations. The workshop will include philosophical discussions, as well as asana practices to weave these concepts into practical, daily tools.

Yoga Therapy for Healthy Spine (3-Part Series)
Sep

to Nov 3

Yoga Therapy for Healthy Spine (3-Part Series)

The architecture of the human spine is what sets us apart from other mammals, in that it allows us to stand upright and walk on two feet. Not only does our spine bridge the communication between our brain, our sensory functions, our internal organs, and our motor functions, it is also considered the main passageway of subtle energies by the ancient yogis. In this workshop series, we will explore the functions of the spine from both the western and eastern physiological standpoint, yoga asanas (postures) for healthy, supple spine, and daily practices to care for the spine. The series is divided into 3 parts:

Session 1 - Lower Back, September 8

Session 2 - Upper Back, October 13

Session 3 - Neck/Shoulders, November 3rd

Come for one or all three in the series!

Yoga for Deep Spinal Release

In this monthly workshop, we will explore a therapeutic yoga style that is designed to resolve your chronic hip and spinal tension. Instead of stretching and strengthening our muscles, we will support the body in specific ways to fully embody the release of the deeper spinal muscles. On a physiological level, they can impair communication between your nervous system and your vital, digestive, and reproductive organs, which can lead to chronic stress, anxiety, restlessness, and fatigue.
